Cartoon Creature Lover Commissions

Commissions are closed!

A digital drawing of Bentley, a soft purple colored anthropomorphic goat-like monster with tall grey horns & a turquoise vest, happily gesturing to the art gallery on our left; on thinner screens, the gallery is above him instead, he looks silly for this.

✦✦ The Commission Process ✦✦

  1. I will announce when I am open to take commissions on my social media accounts & on this website!

  2. You will fill out a Google Form (click the large colored buttons at the top of every commission option, found below) that will ask you to answer all relevant questions regarding commission details.

  3. After a few days, I will close all commission forms & look through the forms submitted. If I accept your form, you will receive a confirmation email that will detail the next steps so I can start working on your piece. If I don’t accept your form, you will not receive an email from me at all. I will announce on my social media accounts when I’ve finished going through all of the forms.

  4. I will send you an invoice via PayPal for your commission. Once you’ve fully paid the invoice I’ve sent you, work on your commission will begin.

  5. I will begin the sketching process for your commission. When I’ve finished the initial sketches, I’ll send them to you for your approval &/or adjustments. NOTE: The sketches will be HEAVILY watermarked in the effort to prevent the client from scamming the artist; apologies for any inconveniences this causes to well-meaning clients.

  6. Once you approve the sketch to be cleaned & turned into a finished piece, I will begin the lineart process. When I’ve finished the lineart, I will send it to you for your approval &/or adjustments. If you request more than the permitted free Major & Minor changes (see ToS for more details), you will be requested to provide additional payments for my additional work. I will not start working on any subsequent revisions until the revision fees have been fully paid for. NOTE: The lineart will be HEAVILY watermarked in the effort to prevent the client from scamming the artist; apologies for any inconveniences this causes to well-meaning clients.

  7. Once you approve the lineart, I will begin the coloring & shading process. When I have finished the coloring & shading, I will send you the finished piece. If any colors, markings, or details need to be adjusted on the finished piece, let me know & I should be able to fix it for you. If you request more than the permitted free Major & Minor changes (see ToS for more details), you will be requested to provide additional payments for my additional work. I will not start working on any subsequent revisions until the revision fees have been fully paid for.

  8. Once you’ve approved the colors & shading, you can enjoy your finished piece! NOTE: The finished piece will be lightly watermarked, meaning that it will feature my username written somewhere on the piece at least once.

Terms of Service

(last updated: Mar 31st, 2024)The artist will be referring to themself as "the artist," me, my, mine, & I throughout my ToS. Clients are referred to as "client/clients" & you/your/you're throughout my ToS.I retain the rights to the art I create for all clients; I can use non-private commissions to promote my work, such as featuring the pieces in my portfolio, in my commission galleries, & on my social media accounts. The character’s rights are retained by their respective owners.I have the right to refuse to take on any commission & to cancel any commission for any reason at any time.I have the right to use any of the unused sketches or refunded material I made while working on your commission (such as unused sketches of poses, backgrounds, concepts for character designs, &/or outfits) in any of my other art, including other commissions.I have the right to change or update my Terms of Service at any point in time.Just because I had a client commission me, does not mean that I am making a moral endorsement towards said client. I do my best not to work with people who would fall under the “undesirable client” territory, but I ultimately cannot conduct extensive background checks on every single person who shows interest in receiving custom art from me. I keep track of a list of banned commissioners, add to that list when I can, & will refuse service to anyone on that list should they approach me for business.I am not held responsible for the client's failure to read through my ToS. Failure to follow my ToS can result in a rejected commission form, the artist discontinuing work on your commission, the client being permanently banned from commissioning the artist in the future, or legal action.

All clients must be 18 years old or older to commission me.Each client can fill out a maximum of 2 forms per commission opening. If a client fills out 3 or more forms, I will only consider working on the first 2 forms sent.I only work with up-to-date & Safe For Work (SFW) reference images & character sheets for my commissions; the only exception to the "up-to-date" part of this rule are design commissions, since the nature of the commission may be to update a character's design.
If I am sent any image or art that I have defined to be Not Safe For Work (NSFW) at any point during the commission process, your commission will be cancelled. You can fill out another form for a future commission round if the Not Safe For Work (NSFW) image or art you included in your form was genuinely a mistake & not clearly meant to be an attempt to harass me. If the image or art you want to send me can be censored, perhaps because it is part of the character's reference sheet & you do not have a Safe For Work (SFW) version of it, please censor everything with fully opaque coverings before you send anything to me. If I am sent any image or art of a feral animal or feral character where you had to censor the image/art due to it falling under my definition of Not Safe For Work (NSFW), your commission form will automatically be rejected & you will automatically become banned from commissioning me in the future. I define Not Safe For Work (NSFW) to be, (select the text from the bars below to read!)
“Any reference images or art featuring detailed/realistic genitalia, anuses, &/or chest located nipples belonging to any animal, creature, or humanoid; including male, female, trans, non-binary, & intersex characters. | Bulges/silhouette of a character's genitalia &/or nipples seen through their clothing, especially in a purposefully sexualized &/or aroused manner. | Artwork of your character participating in sexual activities or has bodily fluids/discharge on/around them. | Images or art with/of sex toys, especially sex toys that closely resemble genitalia; items that do not try to replicate genitalia or anuses, such as ball gags or pup hoods, do not need to be censored if it is featured in the art of your character. However, because I do not take on NSFW commissions, I won't depict items like a ball gag or a pup hood in the commission. | Images or art of bodily waste (urine, feces, vomit, etc.) | Images or art clearly depicting sexual kinks &/or fetishes, especially if the characters are depicted sweating, blushing, &/or panting, &/or certain items, features, or body parts are extremely exaggerated in size (vore, inflation, pregnancy, foot fetishism, etc.)”
I prefer to communicate with my clients via email, but I can communicate with my clients through Direct Messaging (DMs) on any social media platform both myself & the client have accounts on if absolutely necessary.Transactions will be done through Paypal in USD via invoice. At least 50% of the commission invoice is due 3 days after I’ve sent out the invoice to ensure clients are serious about commissioning me & can retain their slots if they cannot pay 100% immediately. I will not start working on your commission until said commission has been fully paid for. If the client fails to pay 100% of the commission invoice 30 days after I’ve sent out the invoice, the commission will be cancelled, refunded, & the slot will open up for another client.I currently do not have an estimated time of completion with my commissions; one is planned to be added in the future. If you want your commission to be finished as quickly as possible, it is recommended that you have the ability to clearly communicate your ideas with the artist consistently, in a non-delayed manner, with clear & easy to understand reference images &/or descriptions. If any delays pop up on the artist's end, the artist will do their best to communicate to all clients affected as soon as they can.
I am not responsible for delays caused by delayed messages &/or unclear reference images &/or descriptions from the client. Attempting to rush the artist will result in commission cancellation & the client will be banned from commissioning the artist in the future.
You are allowed to request 3 major changes for free & 4 minor changes for free. If the artist made an error, such as details forgotten or misinterpreted, the fixes are free & do not add to the count of your 4 free minor changes. Adjustments such as moving a character's eyes closer/farther apart, tilting a limb, or changing the color of a simple & flat colored background are free & do not add to the count of your 4 free minor changes. Only the Lineart or Coloring & Shading stages may require additional payment, I will not ask for any additional payments during the Sketching stage.
If you request more revisions after you’ve already used up your 3 major &/or 4 minor changes, you will be requested to provide additional payments for each subsequent revision. If you do not pay the additional payments, I will not make any additional revisions; I will not start working on any subsequent revisions until the revision fees have been fully paid for.
Major changes ($30 USD per revision) meaning: The artist will have to redraw a large portion of the piece. This includes... heavily changing the pose the subject is in during/after the lineart stage (EX: standing to sitting), changing what species the character is during/after the lineart stage (EX: wolf to pangolin), changing the character's body type during/after the lineart stage (EX: skinny to fat), changing the coloring style from flat marker to textured watercolor & vice versa, changing the colors used in a heavily shaded piece regardless of the coloring style used, changing the colors for a textured watercolor piece, changing the background colors for a background with drawn details, etc.Minor changes ($10 USD per revision) meaning: The artist can alter the piece without needing to redraw a large portion of the piece, only a small portion of the piece may need to be redrawn or otherwise digitally edited. This includes... changing an open hand to a closed fist & vice versa during/after the lineart stage, changing a closed mouth expression to an open mouth expression & vice versa during/after the lineart stage, changing the colors in a flat marker & simplistically-shaded piece after the coloring & shading was finished, changing any of the non-background colors in a flat or simplistically-shaded piece after the coloring & shading was finished, changing the colors on the areas of a simple piece with gradient color work, etc.If your commission is cancelled during the sketching process, you will be fully refunded.
If your commission is cancelled during the lineart process, you will get a 50% refund, & the artist is allowed to turn the remaining lineart into a Your Character Here (YCH) commission other clients can pay for.
If your commission is cancelled during the coloring & shading process, you will not get a refund at all, & the artist is allowed to turn the remaining piece into a Your Character Here (YCH) commission other clients can pay for.
Commissions that have been fully completed cannot be refunded AT ALL.
All digital commissions are saved & sent to clients as PNGs with 350 resolution! Clients will be sent their commissioned piece, & depending on the commission type, it will likely have my signature & watermark (username) on it.Clients can use their commissioned pieces for personal use ONLY; repost your piece with proper credit given to the artist (@cartooncreaturelover), use your piece as your profile picture online, get a tattoo of your piece (Recommended: get a real tattoo artist to ensure the art is tattoo-able), have your piece printed onto a tangible item for non-profit personal usage like a framed print/puzzle/blanket/convention badge/etc. for yourself or a loved one as a gift!Clients CANNOT use their commissioned pieces for commercial use, personal monetary gain, &/or for developing technologies that endanger the livelihoods of human artists; you cannot remove my signature or my watermark from any commissioned piece I’ve made, you cannot trace any commissioned piece I’ve made & attempt to pass it off as your own work, you cannot use any commissioned artwork I’ve made in a video or film without mine & the client's permission whom the art was commissioned by, you cannot use any commissioned artwork I’ve made for Non Fungible Tokens/Web3/Metaverse or any other type of cryptocurrency &/or blockchain technology, you cannot use any commissioned artwork I’ve made for training machine generating image/video programs nor include any commissioned artwork I’ve made in any “AI” databases. If you have any questions, you can always DM me your question, or email me at [email protected] !
